Materials Needed for Homemade Baby Wipes

  • Sewing Machine
  • Terry Cloth
  • Flannel
  • Thread

The friend who made these wipes for me used 2 different fabrics: terrycloth and flannel with a turquoise zig-zag thread! So cute! I always appreciated the 2 different types of fabric. Both were soft yellow and stitched together. The flannel for a gentle cleaning and the side with the terry cloth for when I need to go the distance and wipe up a lot of poop!

Simple Instructions for Homemade Baby Wipes

  • Cut pieces of terry cloth and flannel into rectangles.
(If you choose to use a wipe warmer, measure the inside of the warmer and make them slightly smaller than its dimensions)
  • Put the “right sides” (the sides you want showing in the
final product) of the terry cloth rectangle and the flannel rectangle together.
  • Stitch three of the sides and a bit of the ends of the fourth side.
  • Leave a hole large enough on the fourth side to enable you to turn the little case right side out.
  • Fold the last, unstitched portion of the fourth side in.
  • Using a zig-zag stitch, stitch the gap closed.
  • Go around the entire wipe with a zig-zag stitch to give it a finished look!
